“Conversation with Minds” written by Joseph Awujoola (Seph Ace) is a deep and eccentric poetry collection that speaks directly to the soul.
This collection is divided into four (4) phases which makes reading easier for readers.
The 1st phase speaks about an introduction to a freEnd. This phase speaks about how darkness captures the mind, how we tend to be seeking answers to questions we can’t find solutions to and how we feel there’s no hope.
Phase 2 speaks about Breaking Bread.
This reveals how some things are not going on well, yet we do nothing about it. How we have nobody to speak to even though we are surrounded by people and then we try to figure it out.
Phase 3 speaks about understanding and amending. This chapter reveals how we tend to be not bothered about things happening around us because we have created a haven in our minds which makes us oblivious.
It also reveals how uncertainties make us perplexed and with no sense of direction.
Finally, the author speaks on how to let it go by finding happiness once again.
The final phase speaks about light, love, peace and joy. All these are necessities that we need to find ourselves. The author spoke about God’s love to climax the poem.
Now to the themes in the book are religion, darkness, love and all can be seen in the above phases.
The diction hits the nail on the head. It’s very simple to comprehend which makes reading this book worthwhile.
One interesting thing the author did which caught my eyes is the fusion of Nigerian Pidgin and sayings. This made the book dynamic.
My final parting words is that every living person must read this book. I truly enjoyed reading and reviewing this book.
